Summary
During the holiday season, Balsam Hill sought to create an interactive experience to engage shoppers while also driving online sales. The idea was to develop a kiosk that would allow users to take photos and create personalized holiday cards, which could be sent electronically. However, the success of the experience would ultimately be measured by its ability to generate conversions—turning engaged users into paying customers.

Objective

Challenge
Despite its reputation for quality
Balsam Hill faces challenges in converting casual holiday shoppers into customers. Shoppers often view holiday décor as a "see-it-in-person" purchase, which makes online conversion difficult. Additionally:
Many customers engage with holiday-themed experiences without having a strong purchase intent.
A significant number of holiday shoppers browse for inspiration but delay purchases until later.
Balsam Hill needed to ensure that its kiosk experience seamlessly linked to its online store to capture interest and drive conversions.
